What's a "recipe" and why does the system want me to fill one in?
When you want auto inventory deduction on every sale.
- A recipe maps a product to the ingredients it consumes. Latte 12oz → 18g espresso beans + 240ml whole milk + 1× 12oz cup.
- When the cashier rings a Latte 12oz, the system reads the recipe and automatically subtracts those ingredients from stock.
- Without a recipe, the product still sells fine — but ingredient stock won't move, so your stock-take will drift.
- Open Inventory → Products → click product → Recipe tab → add ingredient + quantity rows.
You'll see
After a sale, ingredient stock in Inventory → Ingredients drops by the recipe quantities.
