Should I run the cloud version or the LAN self-host?
- Cloud (Vercel + Supabase): zero hardware investment, auto-updates, internet required. Best for most shops.
- LAN self-host (Docker on a mini PC in your shop): one-time ~₱5-10k hardware spend, works offline LAN-only, you maintain backups. Best if your internet is unreliable but in-shop Wi-Fi works.
- Pick LAN if: internet drops 1+ hr per week, you're in a typhoon-prone area, or you serve 500+ transactions a day and want zero latency.
- Pick cloud if: you're starting out, you have OK internet, you don't want to be the IT person.
